Default COBB SOHC no longer!!!

Well I got an email back from Cobb today stateing that they are no longer offering the SOHC for the 2.5L. I then went to their website, and sure enough they don't offer either cam option or even the high lift springs.

So basically looks like anybody else looking for cams will have to look at elsewhere for cams.

I think COBB is trying pull back on the 2.5 lineup...
First the CAI... now the cams....

True and there is also Delta Cams, but those are regrinds and some people aren't comfortable with regrinds. So now it looks like TWE is the only new cam available for the SOHC? According to WebCams website, they offer hard weld regrinds, but they only list it goo for up through 02.

Spore: I think they are just basically getting out of the Subie NA business. Not sure if that's true, but that's what it's starting to look like.

They are really getting out of the less profitable stuff. If you've noticed, they're also expanding into other brands besides Subaru.

The good thing is that there are some alternatives, and there's always the used market.

At SEMA Cobb announced that MSD had taken a partial ownership of the business and the rumour is that they are going to pull back on most if not all of their hard parts business and become primarily an electronics company. There's a press release on Cobb's blog site:
http://blogs.cobbtuning.com/?p=39

Beyond that, the Cobb cams were always rebranded Web Racing camshafts. In fact, the Web cams have always been available directly for $50 less than Cobb was selling them.
http://www.webcamshafts.com/
The 148e is the equivalent of the mild cam. The 115 is the spicy. You could also custom request racing specs if you so desired. I know for a FACT that my Spicy cams are 115's. I've had them out and in my hands and saw the stamp right on the end of the camshaft...

Where was it implied that they were moving away from hard parts? I haven't heard that yet, although it shows as some of the parts we sell cant be ordered anymore. SS brakelines for one, cams another, heads and shortblocks next.

It's not implied in the press release. Let's just say that what I consider a very reputible bird told me so. Believe me or not. I don't care...

Many years too late... regrinds are total garbage, at least the ones that they sold. I've personally seen two sets that had massive pitting on the running surface of the lobes.

Not really. There's many people here that like to argue and challenge every little thing that they are unable to personally verify. I was just making it clear that I wasn't going to dispute it with anyone. If they think I am wrong, it doesn't matter to me. I am not going to make any attempts to PROOVE what I said to be the truth. That's all.

Getting cams for us will probably require some sort of transaction involving our souls.

anyone warranty performance camshafts anyway??????
Delta has perfected cam grinding, as me being the owner 22 years of grinding myself. just like paint shops, good ones and ****ty ones.
We warranty our performance camshafts for one year, no questions asked, just an oil sample ! unheard of in any performance application !
