Default P0303 misfire on cyclinder 3?

Hey guys/girls this morning going to work i popped a check engine light so i pulled over and used my trusty code reader and the code that appeared was a P0303. I believe that code is for a misfire cylinder 3 correct? Does anyone know possible causes of this im gonna try and get it over to the mechanic at lunch. This sucks being at work with your car parked outside and you know its screwed up. It has almost 100,000 miles on it and never has had a problem, i think im going to fix it and sell it and upgrade to an 04-05 Sti. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

does it feel like its misfiring?

could be a bad fuel injector, spark plug, coil pack

or it could be worse and a base engine problem, low compression, burnt valves, piston rings....

^shhh dont you wish that evil on me. Actually the mechanic called said it was a front 02 sensor and an ignition coil. I had a cel a couple months ago for a front 02 sensor but it came on them went away then next time i started the car. Still thinking about the sti though my subie might be up on the nasioc auction block in the not so distant future.

I've heard of this happening a lot with Subbies - fortunately I've not gotten anything of the sort. But munkis is right with what he had said.
