Default 05 STI, Mods, $21,500

After many arguments with my Boss, AKA the wife, I am forced to sell my STI. She has picked out an M3 as the replacement so its not too bad but I would rather sell it than trade it in.

Its an 05 CGM with 12k miles. The orginial engine spun a bearing and a new block was installed about 8k miles ago after the car sat for 9 months. I haven't driven it hard since putting in the new block and recently put in synthetic oil. When the new block was put in the following mods were installed.

Perrin GT35R kit with Precision Turbo
FMIC
815 Injectors
Blitz SBC
Blitz Turbo Timer
Turbo Back Exhaust
Boost Sensitive FPR
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
LC-1 Wideband 02
EGT Gauge
Front Lip
Exedy Triple Disk Clutch and Lightened Flywheel
Enginuity Tuned to 22.5 PSI have been running at 21 psi (Cable included)

WRX front seats instead of STI seats. ( I have a set of SPARCO EVO's I will include for some more $$$)

Louisville, Kentucky

Default Mileage is 12k

Hi all,

Yes the mileage is 12k on the whole body, the new engine has about 8. I bought it with an engine that had a spun bearing and was planing on the whole sleeved block huge build. In the mean time i put in a stock sti block with all the parts. I still have to original block and the title is clean. The person i bought it from spun the bearing at 4 k miles then let it sit for almost a year because he didn't have the money to get it running.

I think I emailed everyone back but if not send me a pm and I will send the message.

Its a great car just too much (for my wife) to take the 6 year old to kindergarten and go to the country club for golf.

This car is very fast and conservativly tuned. Everyone says that I know but meh its true here.

That is one hell of a price. Why so cheap? You should be asking at least 26k with the low millage and mods.

Because if he trades it in they will give him less than 21,500 so why not pass on some nice savings to the Subaru community.

Heck, usually people just complain about the price but for a different reason

Exactly, and I got it cheap so if I can get rid of it quick I will. BTW I am firm on the 21,500 for now.

Not so true. I sold my car to the dealer(did not even trade or buy another car from the dealer) and they gave me $24,000 for my 04 sti with 20k miles. You would be surprised what they would give for it as a trade in. Take it back to stock and trade it. Some one buy this car it is a great deal. I might buy it return it to stock sell the parts and the sale it just to make a few grand.

Default Wholesale trade value

Where are they paying 24k for wholesale sti's? Here the car is too specific to get anything for the mods on a trade in. If it had chrome spinners i might get a few hundred more. Having it stock would get the same amount from the stealership but I don't have the time, parts, or desire to go through the hassle of putting stock parts back on the car. If you want to give me 24k for it, thats awsome. Someone mentioned 26, i would take that as well, but I think for 21,500 someone will drive to louisville this week and take it from me before next friday.

I am not claiming this car is perfect, it has some afterfire every once in a while, the CEL will come on from the lightened flywheel, (a nusance but not a problem, search will back me up on this), the EVAP system trips every once in awhile again a nusance but not a real problem (i think it wasn't hooked up correctly when the engine was installed). The enginuity tune was done by a blkscbywagon and is safe in my opinion and his per numerous logging sessions. The EGT stays around 9 -10 and the AFR runs a tad rich at WOT per the inovative wbo2 and the logging. It needs a tuner or enthusist to finish the last 2% of drivability. I told all of this to the dealership when negotiating the trade and details of the purchase hence the low trade in price.

I drive it every day and have put around 8 k on it in approximatly 6 months. I need a more sophisticated car to drive as I become the 'old guy', at least thats what my wife is saying.

don't sell it. She wants to sell your car for 21k to buy another car for 21k? that doesn't sound right. The mazda is not bigger, does not seat more, and it's not all wheel drive for the safety factor.

BMW not Mazda3. I would keep it for anything other than a newer M3.

All PM's replied to. Sorry for the delay.
