Default Consequences of Changing AF Learning Ranges?

So the AF Learning #1 ranges on my ROM are 0-4.5, 4.5-10, 10-22, and 22+. Idle learning fluctuates HUGELY (often more than -10 to +10) depending on the amount of heat soak. This would be fine if idle were confined to AF Learning #1 A. However, when the defrost kicks the AC on, it jumps up to about 4.7-4.9g/sec until the compressor cycles off again. This is just enough to skew the AF Learning #1 B value enough to make it totally wrong for the 5-10g/sec range.

Is there any reason not to alter the AF Learning #1 Ranges map to make A and B 0-5, 5-10 instead of the current map? This would confine the heat soak at idle Leaning changes to, well, idle.
