Default fuel filter placement

Hi guys,
I have three different manuals for my 95 imp wagon. I have a 2.2 AWD, 4eat. I haven't climbed under it yet, since my driveway is nothing but ice, but does any one know where the fuel filter is placed??? In one man they say that its under the pass side body, against the frame rail, the other said its back by the fuel pump, and the third doesn't mention it. I have one to replace it, since going over all the RO's, and paper work and not finding it. I have plugs, wires, fuel filter, and oil change stuff, that ill do this weekend. But does anyone definitively know where this thing is at before i go and freeze. Thanks guys.

The filter on my car, 97 OBS, is actually attached right near the winshield washer container. Might be different for you, but can't hurt to look since all you have to do is pop the hood.

Should be in the engine bay near the windshield wiper reservoir. Looks like a big black can with two tubes connected to it.

Here is where it is on my 98 Impreza RS. Don't know if it helps, buy at least I tried.
Picture:

It was black, but I replaced it a week after buying the car and the new one is silver.
