Default Eastern Washington Mega-Meet - March 22

I am hoping to set-up a large meet for Saturday March 22nd. I want to get everyone from eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Montana together in one place.

For this meet instead of just meeting up in one spot and just grabbing some food, I am turning it into a cruise.

We will meet at Fast Kart in Spokane Valley, a spot that most people know and is very easy to get to.

That way we can build the Subaru Community in the east side of the state, as I know there are a lot of you guys out there, but not everyone knows everyone.

On March 22, we will meet at Fast Kart at 12pm.

From there whoever would like to can cruise down the mountain and back roads to Coure D' lene. This is something we did a few months back and I'm looking to turn it into a larger meet, something that everyone in the area would like to come to.

Here is a link to Fast Kart's website and the address

http://www.fastkartspeedway.com/spokane.asp

1224 E Front Ave
Spokane, WA 99202
(509) 568-1065

I hope to see a lot of people there and make for a large meet in the eastern side of the state.

It seems that bigger meets are ones that stay in one spot, like barbecues and such. If we do a big meet and you want people to come from all over, it would make more sense to keep the timeline more static. If people are coming from MT and miss the step off time for a drive, then they would have driven a long ways for nothing.

Why not an all day meet somewhere familiar, with maybe a barbecue or a place with cheap food. Too bad there isn't a physical shop around here that caters specifically to Subaru's (like Solar Reflections, PIA, PDX Tuning, etc.) that we could all meet at.

What about centering it around an autocross or something? Even if people don't intend to run, it's a great meeting place with something to do almost all day. ASNW has always encouraged attendance and spectating, and turn out has been decent at rallycross'.

But yeah, a BIG meet would be cool. The last few have been pretty weak (not like I helped by not showing up ).

That makes me think about something that would be better, I'll set-up a reservation at Fast Kart over in Spokane Valley that way we don't have to worry about moving or people showing up late.

Then from there whoever wants to take the cruise to Coure 'd lene we can do that as well

I think centering it around an autocross is a great idea. I'd love to go out there to race sometime. Any coming up soon?

I checked, unfortunately there aren't any auto-x's coming up. The only racing I could come up with is going to Fast Karts and racing around on some quick go karts

We should still do the Auto-x thing, maybe later this year. All of the ASNW events are TBA, so we will have to wait until the schedule is posted and go from there.

We should plan the event more into spring/early summer. Rent out the top of the hill at Higgins Point ("that spot in Coeur d'Alene") and have a barbeque, and use the parking lot for meet/show. Easy to get to and a good spot overall.

Only problem is we have to do it early enough in the year before summer hits full swing to avoid the campers and trucks with boat trailers that take up the whole lot. But, I would imagine late spring should be fine.

I think it's only like $75 to rent the whole top of the hill, and from there there is beach access as well.

Just a thought.

That would be a good idea, if you want to look into that or I can as well, and set-up a bbq. I'd like to have a meet like that every few months or something, get everyone in this area together, whether its fast karts, auto-x, or a BBQ...get more subarus coming out around eastern washington, idaho and montana area together

mmm sounds like someting is in the mix!

The next auto-x for SSSCC is in central washington in Yakima on the 18/19 of April. Maybe we could set up a meet there? I know its about 100 miles from me and probably 150 miles from you seattle kids. As far as spokane you are looking at 200 miles~ roughly

I would love to go on that drive again considering that the last time I couldn't take my car.

I also think fast carts is a great idea and if people can't make it, they can just call or something and we can work something out.

talk to ya later buddy

should be a great time, especially the cruise to Cour 'd lene, that was a blast last time down the winding roads. You can ask Subielove02 he was riding with me thru the "spirited" driving (me and my friend in his 04 STi leading the pack, going thru corners nose to tail, with him alittle sideways at times and me tucked underneath...haha...gotta love wet roads )

We'll try to make it! We might be getting the new exhaust on before then too. We are going with single out on the 08 STi instead of the dual out. I know that I'm going to get some crap about that but a single pipe will flow better than the split duals and is cheaper and simpler. We'll lose some weight too!
