Crankshaft Seal Replacement
I know this particular thread has been brought up before but have not read about MY99 LGT DOHC:
I'm trying to take out the oil pump to replace Crankshaft seal and O ring behind the oil pump pain in the urse.
I got the crankshaft out part, Setting it to TDC part. All information from the Service manual and Haynes and reading threads.
It's just that taking the Timing belt off without the tools stated in the Service manual part.(You know what I mean) I know I'm capable of such work but I have no type of experience in this type of things. the tools were quoted 310 dollars for the Left and Right CAM Holder from SPX Kent Moore Garage quoted 400 dollars (this is not going to happen as I want to learn how to do this as after this car guess what car I'm getting after) Hint: it rhymes with SUBARU.
I'm just confused what to do so the CAM doesn't spin on me without the tool. Some fabricated it which I'm also capable of if only I knew what the size and dimensions of the cams bolts and Allen or hex oct etc etc....
If anyone that lives around the Lowell, MA area and willing to give a helping hand please by all means.
