ER series?! WTF?! Where the hell did you find that?
Anyways to OP'er No I would not suggest that for a swap. Not worth it in any financial way. Especially since you can't find better none drive/power train support for first and second generation Imprezas.

Your noobiness is showing. It was an obvious joke since the ER27 has less HP stock than than even the 96 ej25 did.

Edit: ER27 147hp at 5.2k and 156tq at 2.8k vs 96 EJ25 155hp at 5.6k and 155tq 2.8k

Id do it if i was ****ing rich, not worth it if budget is tight, you could get more power outta a first gen EJ22, building it than that.

Okay easy fella. So i didn't get a look at Subis before the 90's big whoop. I'd bet about 90% plus haven't heard of it. So what was it in? With 147HP I would lay bets on an XT or simular ealy Subaru Sport based chasis. I know Subaru made 1 or 2 pre EG33 H-6's( I would assume this is a 6) but never really found interest earlier than the EJ and EG series motors. Besides I love the EZ's they are the next wave Subaru is going anyways with their EL's replacing the EJ by likely 2012.

It was basically an EA82 and a half (1.8 * 1.5 = 2.7). The XT6 or "Alcyone VX" was a very funky car. It had all sorts of goofy features including speed dependent ride height (air suspension) and fully electric power steering (cybrid). It was also the first Subaru to feature the 5 bolt pattern we use today.

In Japan the first flat six was the Alcyone VX and the "Alcyone SVX" replaced it. Now you can see where the name came from. Its similar to the Subaru RX (the most sexy EA Subaru) and the WRX we have now. If you thought the SVX was strange now you know why!
