With minimal wiring? None. All the swaps will require the same amount of wiring.

And any swap you can do in an Impreza you can do in a Legacy.

You can put any EJ engine in there with the right combination of parts and wiring.

But, if you have $30,000 to spend, buy a used wrx or sti and save yourself the trouble.

Pat has it spot on, there is no swap that isn't going to involve wiring. There are a number of shops who will merge the harnesses for you if you want to do the mechanical side of it though.

I'm in the middle of swapping an 05 wrx driveline into my 97 right now, and the wiring is definitely the most difficult part of the swap, most everything else just bolts in.

I would definitely advise getting a complete donor car, as the second hardest thing for me has been tracking down all the little things (brackets, hoses, fuel tank, etc) that I didn't get when I bought the driveline.

you can use a hydra ecu to stand in for the ecu that way there is less wiring to be done.

Do any shops do a custom-made harness by order to save time? For example, would someone merge two harnesses without me pulling the one out of my car first to save inop time?
