Default help me identify this ecu please!

So im doing a 06 sti swap into a 05 2.5 RS. The swap i purchashed was suppose to be everything out of a 06. When we got around today to installing the sti stuff, i find the harness is labeled as a 05 sti. and the ecu on one side he wrote 04 sti silver. but on the back side it says 05 sti.

It would be competley awesome if it was a 04, but i need to figure it out so i know what to do about the immobilzer system. it plugs in perfectly to the "05" harness. and i know you have to repin 5 pins for by passing the immobilizer, but my guess is the connectors are the same shape still.

So how do i tell if its a 04 or 05 ecu? heres a picture and the numbers on it. any other help would be great. thanks.

i realise its a little blurry, so heres the numbers.

Thanks all.

well im pretty effin confused now.

i had another guy tell me it was a 05 ecu because of the number on it. but now your saying the parts number is off a 04...

and im begining to think this whole harness is off a 04 not a 05, im begining to wonder what year the motor is really from. This whole situation is goofy i need to start doing some diggin.

Maybe you will get lucky,& it will be an 04 or 05 engine so you can use the 04 ecm.Does the 04 & 05 engines have an air pump.

Looks just like one of the three 05 STI ECU that I have. I hope you have the matching key/immobilizer.

Edit: Why not connect it and use the tactrix cable to read its exact config? You dont need to start the car.

subaru ran it. it said 02-07 wrx/sti... i was like well that helps a lot.

then he checked something else and said something about 10 months (i didnt quite catch it) so he said he would say its a 04. so there is still a slight chance it could be a 05. but more htan likly its 04. specially since the wiring harness is labeled 04 im guessing its going to be a 04 ecu.

I'm swapping an 07 sti engine into a 98 2.2 wagon,I just ordered this part # 22611AJ930 & what I got was a 22611AJ931.I rewired my ecu plugs to fit an 04 model.Still no spark,& I cant communicate with the ecu.So I'm going along with who ever says its an 05.Can any body tell me which wires to change on the 05 to get it to start,& how many wires are different from the 04 to 05 ecu harness. Thanks

I've been told that the 07 and 04 are not interchangeable without a huge wiring job. I didn't believe the person until I looked at the ECU pinouts myself. There was a huge difference between the two.
