Default 2004 STi Wiring with 2006 WRX Engine??

I have an 01 RS which I swapped an 04 STI motor into with wiring and ecu. That motor blew but the wiring is still good. I have been researching buying another STI motor but have read thet the 2006-up WRX engines are basically the same as the STI with the exception of turbo, intercooler and ecu.

Is it possible to swap an 06 WRX motor into my current setup without rewiring anything? I still have my STI manifold with complete wiring. Do I need to swap that onto the WRX motor or can I just leave it as is? Are the wiring harnesses the same? Both motors have the same stuff with the exception of the air pump stuff. Will STI ecu's work with the WRX motor?

Thanks for whatever help you guys can give.

No,the 04 STI wiring is different if you use the o6 engine with the 04 ecu you need to take the harness off the 04 engine,& put it onto the 06 engine. The ecu connectors are the same, but the terminals are in different positions. You have to change about 150 wires around, plus the 06 has an imobilizer,& you have to have a cluster to match the ecu,& the body intigrated unit.
