Default 1998 OBS front end to RS

Hey guys, just got another OBS, but a little faster.

Anyway... I wanted this one to look the part, so i want to do a bumper swap. The only peice I'm haveing trouble finding is the STI lightweight bumper beam. I can get the RS beam but I would prefer to get the lose a little weight in the process.

Anyone know where to get them? I figured the conversion forum would be the best place to ask.

The part number is 57760FA400.

Get it from your dealer. If you find it lower somewhere else, make 'em match it so you just pay tax and not shipping.

If this car is your DD, I sooo don't recommend the LW beam

I know that the lightweight beam isn't crash approved and I do plan on it being a daily driver. Is their any other reason not to get it?

Nope it's as good as gold if your a safe or at least compitant driver. I have one on my OBS(97) but I will be customing up a brush guard to go over my aftermarket front end. It does seem really flimsy in your hands but it's only really there for holding the front end in place. You can always hack up your stock beam too though. I had cut mine down and it seemed fine but I figured I'd just drop the weight if I was going as far as I am with my car. Oh and I got mine from that parts place(It's the local Subi dealer parts departments so I just picked mine up at the dealer.)

yeah, i'd just take your stock double-bar beam and hack the lower half off... keep some nice steel up front, and save all the money. then ya only have to spend for the bumper.
