Default NY: Turbo Jetta 1996 2.0l

126k 1996 gls 5spd turbo

located in rochester NY.

Recently replaced:
Upper coolant hose
Pioneer deh-p30001b
Kyb gr-2 struts in rear
oil flange gasket
valve cover, oil pan and intake manifold gasket
injector seals

Some things about the car:

I bought the car about four years ago from a family member. He kept the car in great condition; there is no rust with only a few small dents. The largest one is on the passenger rear door; the other dent is on the passenger front fender which is hardly noticeable. I kept the car stock with intentions of a daily driver for 2.5 of those years. I bought a Honda crv from another family member for dirt cheap so I need to get rid of one. I am forced to sell one of my cars and the Jetta just isnít my ideal car at this stage in my life.

The rear bumper is being fixed and painted this coming weekend to match the front. There are some scrapes and such which will be taken care of. I also have the raintray, I just havenít re-installed it. I JUST bought and installed the radio/cd/mp3/AAC with front aux input less than a week ago; it comes with a remote. The NYS inspection was done last month. The interior is in good condition. The only reason its not perfect is because of a couple cigarette burns on the seat along with a commonly worn driver carpet. I still have the GLS hubcaps.

the car handles great. I just installed some kyb struts in the rear earlier this week. I installed some sleeve type coilovers from a member of vortex. They are pretty comfortable actually, not bouncy at all. The front struts should be replaced if you want a full setup, but the current struts are fine.

Turbo stuff:
The manifold is an Audi 5 cylinder which was modified to fit a Garrett .42/.48. The turbo has a rebuilt tag and is in great condition. The turbo is boosting 10 psi along with a CDM ebay greddy type rs bov which is re-circulated. The chip is a C2 Motorsports 42lb along with 42lb injectors and vr6 maf housing. The car has a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge which can be seen in the pictures. The exhaust is a full 2.5Ē to a thrush cherry bomb side exit. I may also finish the exhaust this weekend while the bumper is in paint. The stock catalytic convertor is in place, but its gutted. One this I found out during the turbo install is that the stock cat, with the last 3 inches of outlet pipe cut off is 2.5Ē through. The remaining rubber couplers for the turbo charge pipes will be replaced with silicone couplers and t bolt clamps before the delivery of the car. i have them, but I havenít had time to change them over with my schedule. I build full boost by 3k rpm.

T3 turbo .42/.48
C2 42lb chip
42lb injectors
Ebay greddy type RS bov
Vr6 maf
A4 smic turned tmic
2.5" piping

I did the downpipe quickly, but it works and will hold up well, its just not pretty.

Things the car needs:

The deal with the black hood is that my neighbor very slowly and accidentally backed into the hood and dented the front edge with the external spare tire. No damage occurred to anything but the cosmetic damage to the hood. I was feeling funny one day while the hood was off for the turbo install and I decided to paint it with the left over BBQ paint. I have a perfectly good hood in my basement which will be included with the car. The only thing is that its blue and will need paint.

Both front windows work, the back two do not. The passenger rear window regulator is still good, I think one of the wires became separated. The driver rear regulator is bad.

The clutch is ok, but it doesnít hold 10 psi in 3rd or 4th gear. It isnít an issue to me since I use the car as a daily driver; Iím not constantly on boost.

The front o2 sensor = check engine light.

The transmission mount is bad. Blackforest sells g60 mounts for $20.

Parking brake cables need to be replaced.
