Default speed sensor problems after swap

I have a 1996 impreza auto and swapped over a enigine and trans out of a 1998 Legacy Gt..It bogs out over 3k rpms..How do I fix??

Dont think that is anything to do with the speed sensor. May not be getting enough gas with the 1.8 fuel pump, or filter could be plugged. Also could be something with the transmissions position sensor, if it was saying it was in park when it was actually in drive it could be limiting the revs.

the 96 L uses a cable that goes from the trans to the speedometer to drive the cluster and there are wires from the cluster that feed the ecu. check to see if the cable is connected to the trans and cluster properly, if it isnt connected the ecu will go into limp mode when it doesnt receive any signals from the cluster.
i know this for a fact as i swapped an 02 wrx drivetrain into my 96 L wagon and i had left the speedo cable off the trans and drove the car. the ecu threw a cel as soon as i hit 4k rpm and the revv limiter kicked in. i connected the cable back to the trans and the cel and revv limiter went away immediately...
