Default '02 WRX sedan into '96 Brighton coupe?

I was working on a turbo kit for my EJ18 Brighton but a compression test shows low compression in #4 so that game plan is off.

I was going to just go thru with the well-documented EJ25 NA swap and be done with it.

Now I see locally an '02 WRX w/ salvage title for sale and of course that gets the mind a-going!

Can I park these 2 cars side-by-side, strip the Brighton bare, and then pull out of the WRX and bolt into the Brighton?

I'm talking motor/tranny, motor crossmember, rear end and subframe, axles, hubs front and back, entire wiring harness, dash and interior? Will the door cards from the WRX sedan fit my Brighton coupe doors?

I've got a million questions but those are the first ones!

I've got my asbestos shorts on so flame away if my search missed this info!

Thanks!

Karl

So what do people do/have done when they swap the dash? Do they just suck up the non-matching door cards?

What is the interchangability of the struts/springs? I already have a nice set of adjustable KYB struts and Eibach springs on the Brighton.

Also, is it possible to convert the front end (ie: hood/fenders/headlights/grill) of the Brighton to the bugeye WRX?

Thanks!!

Dash swap requires a ton of work. I did it on mine and wouldn't do it again.

Keep the struts/springs that came with the car on the car. If you want aftermarket go with aftermarket stuff that's MADE for the GC chassis.
I bought KYB AGX's and used my stock springs rides great. Keep the set up you have.

No, nothing on the exterior of the car is interchangeable.

Here's a list of things i swapped over from a 03' WRX to my 96' Wagon that took little to no modification... (basically bolt in, a few parts required very easy modification to work)

All this stuff pretty much 'bolts in'. But keep in mind you still have a TON of wiring to make it all work.

EVERYthing in the engine bay
-Motor
-Tranny
-Crossmemeber
-Tranny crossmember
-radiator
-a/c condensor and hard line (i did the dash swap, so this may be different if you don't)
-ABS along with all hard lines (swap the front/rear hubs to accept ABS sensors)
-brake master cylinder
-clutch master cylinder
-fuel lines

Suspension
-The only stuff i used off the wrx was the rear sway bar and mounts

Brakes
-WRX hubs front/rear (dissconect the e-brake lines running to the ebrake and swap the entire unit with the rear hubs)
-wrx calipers/rotors etc front/rear

Driveline
-Drive axles
-Drive shaft
-Rear subframe (has a better mount for the rear diff)
-Rear subframe outrigger
-Rear diff

Other random stuff i swapped
-Hard lines for the fuel lines that run through the chassis
-Gas tank and all emissions crap (carbon canister etc)
-Gas tank filler tube
-Seats
-wrx exhaust/heat shields
-wrx shifter assembly
-ebrake handle (no need, but i'm doing the interior conversion)

Everything else i swapped requires quite a bit of work to make it look/function right...
(steering rack, steering column, dash, center console, heater core/AC system, dash bar/beam, pedal assembly)

Here's a link to my swap and progress... i should have it starting up for the first time later today!

Definatly! Or search for "Zephyr" on here. He can do the same thing as i've heard nothing but great things about his work.

(i think he's a little less expensive as well)
