Default 335xi - 369whp / 376wtq under the worst possible conditions

Hey guys, I've posted before... thought i'd give you guys an update because some people were definitely interested in the results. Last weekend I got dynoed again with my new my mods:

UR Catless Downpipes, catless exhaust, dual-cone intake, and PROcede V3.

In 90 degree weather with one ****TY fan I put down 369whp / 376wtq... the conditions and fan setup were so bad that i decided to goto a different dyno (ICS in stamford) this saturday. The other nice thing is that they have stock 335 baseline numbers on that dyno so i can compare it (277whp/298wtq). I'm expecting around 380-390whp! wish me luck!!

90* the worst conditions ever...

this was last night where i live
10:56 PM 84.2 F

So are you getting any tuning done on these trips to the dyno or just trying to get the highest number? Seems weird to me to drive all the way to the a dyno thats in cooler conditions to get dyno'd just to make a higher number.....dont you want the car to be tuned where you are actually gonna drive it?

Worst conditions would be 117 outside. Intake temps of 225F. One pull and the car overheats! Day to day life here!

I get it I get it guys... 90 degrees is not the hottest weather in the history of the world... Either way they are not desirable conditions with a horrible fan setup

Its not about the cooler weather its about the proper fan setup.. If you saw how bad the fan (singular) was you would understand. I just want to see a more accurate reading.. Plus ICS has dynoed stock 335's before so I'll have something to compare to.

I'll be able to compare my numbers vs. stock 335 numbers (since they've dynoed stock 335's there before). It's all about the delta, and this is as close as i'm going to get to a delta with my car. I mentioned this in my original post... you should read more closely next time.

It doesn't matter how "ACCURATE " you think their dyno is. It's a tool, and all I need is baseline numbers from the same dyno to compare it to and I then I'll relatively "accurate" numbers.

Excellent numbers! I have been looking into this car a little bit and it has peaked my interest.

jpsimon, I have read instances where the stock twins have failed prematurely. What is causing this? Is it a better bet to go with the factory backed Dinan performance packages? The reason I ask is because engine failure on a BMW motor would be something terrible to eat out of pocket. I'm sure even the stock twin turbos are quite expensive as well.

There have been very few (as in only a couple) of pre-mature failures and nothing has pointed to tunes/mods causing this. There are too many variables.. driver/install error.. etc etc.. And if i remember correctly only one of the failures was actually modded. Basically at this time, the community feels they were anomalies and running at this much power is fine.

I personally despise all things dinan and would never recommend it to anyone.

Is there any logical reasoning to this, or just baseless statement?

I love the 335i/xi too. The car is absolutely incredible... I would love to add one along side me STi once I'm outta college.

That's exactly what I was thinking. When I get out of college I might drop some coin on a 335i.

Dinan is just a name... it's such a joke. They make crap products (look at their mufflers for $1750). They are poorly made and hilariously over-priced. And if we're just talking about their tune... it is super mild. People just pay for the so called "warranty"... but Dinan's relationship with BMW now adays is shady. I personally will never in my life put anything Dinan on my car

anyways, this isn't a thread to discuss Dinan so i digress.
