Default Almost locked in..Driving escepades from the northwest corner..

It felt like it was int he 60's this afternoon, and I decided that I really just wanted to go for a nice drive through some dirt backroads and have some thinking time. Just around the corner from my house are some great windy dirt roads, usually nobody around, good fun. So, Im on my way there, just a street away and I pass a little side road I use as a turn around sometime, which generally has a gate up with a big lock...I peer down this road sometimes, and it looks amazing, its that kind of twisty turny road that just vanishes into the woods..Today, as I passed it, the gate was open, and there was a car parked outside of it, I didnt really think much of it (I ignored the thought in my mind that there was someone probably walking ), and I went right on in, at a slow pace, it was immaculate roads. I conviced myself that I could go in for two reasons, IT HAS a road sign, as if it is a road, with an outlet (but we'll get to the outlet buisness in a little), I am curious as ALL hell where this road leads, and I really am up for some fun driving. So, im widing my way in, and I pass an old lady, walking a dog, and I give a wave, she gives a wave, and we smile, I keep going and it is only getting better, the road opens up a bit, i cross over a few beautiful bridges, and im winding allover the place, there are alternate routes to take allover, and i wind myself all the wya to a T, I go left, and I pass an abandon house, it looks spooky, so i zoom by, an di get to a dead end, i go the other way, and it looks like only old logging roads..on my way I pass a couple, with two more dogs, i give a wave, and I began to think, what happens if the gate closes well im in here , I get sort of nervous, and I start back, trying to just pretend when i get there the gate will be wide open and Ill just get out with no harm done...Im on a hill, winding back up to where the gate is and I pass the same lady, she is walking back toward what i guess is her car..i unroll myw indow and i ask does this road have no outlet !!!, she said, yes, and they are about to close and lock the gate ahead, so I go 50 more yards to the top of the road and there is a big green ford f450 truck just slowing backing out, locking the gate up, and I tap my horn very lightly, so he see's im there (he didnt notice me i guess, his v12 rumbled louder than my scooby ), I get right out, and he gets the first line in "Dont honk at me on my own ****ing property, what are you doing here, ripping around at 30-40 miles per house", i said " I wasnt going very fast sir, I was very curious, I live around the corner, and I drive by here, I figured it was a road with an outlet, because like all other roads here, it has a road sign..." He said"I saw you from far away, ripping over the bridge down there...""Can you not read the private property sign, no tresspassing on the gate" "well, the gate was open, so no, I couldnt read it when it was open" "You scared the hell out of my mother (i think thats what he yelled), walking the dog in here", and I said "i crept around the corner, and we waved, no harm done....I didnt know where I was, It was a beautiful day so i went out for a drive, and I found my way in here" "where do you live, who are you" I told him i lived up the street, and my name, because i figured he had allready written my plates down if I was gonna try and rip away.which was nearly impossible because he had blockaded it well...so, I apolgized "my strongest apologies sir, you will never see me again, and ill never see you again, I didnt realize what I was doing" and he got in his truck and moved it...
Scary thinking I was going to get locked in there, I dont think he will follow up on anything, i apologized..no harm done...he was kinda mean though
as i was turning out, I really wanted to ask him if he would accept 100 bucks, or 150 dollars for a few hours of driving in there..but i think it was a sore subject...anyways, I did get 30 or so minutes of excellent driving in..just thought I would share my story

kinda like getting caught beating on Dad's car, by Dad. Worse than getting caught by the cops.
