Default 4EAT to 5spd Write up? DIY?

I am trying to find a DIY/Write up for a auto to manual swap...anyone know where to look or does anyone have a write up on it!? I know people have done it but I cant seem to find a DIY on it. If someone could point me in the right direction or towards someone that has done the swap. Would be much appreciated!

Hmm member number 144826 and member number 181538, I hate to be an ass but there's probably already 5 threads about this on the most current page of Subaru Conversions. Search for my name in this forum and you'll see how I did it, I'll tell you that much.

I'll also tell you that its not worth the money on this new of a car, just sell your car and buy a 5spd (preferably blown so you wont waste the money on a POS 5spd and can get a real 6spd to begin with).

You can do a nice 5Speed swap for $1600 or less if you look for deals. I did my full 05 STi swap for $2000 (including Brembos/BBS's) (+$600 for control arm/Spiider DCCD and clutch). If he has a 96 Impreza, I am gonna assume it's paid off, and if it's paid off, swapping in a MT tranny to give it new life is a lot better than taking on another loan when you just got out from under one.

There is ONE thread on how to do a 4EAT to 5/6MT and it's not a sticky when it should be.

Soccerdommer, if there is anything you need to know about wiring for this swap, give me a PM I will do what I can to help. I did a 4EAT to 6MT a couple months ago and it runs flawless.

It would be pretty interesting with your 96 Impreza. I don't have a manual for that year, so if you do, it would be very helpful.
