Default Precision tuned Donmiator 2.5r (retune)

Well let me just start off the Team at Precision is hands down the best all around. Big thanks to everyone. My car is self wrenched and i couldnt be happier with the outcome. The day went very well besides the awful heat, i believe it was 98 outside. The cars computer kept pulling timing that we added up top due to the high intake temps so we needed to let the intake cool off a couple times before we could make pulls. The car made 399awhp/394awtq on 23psi on pump 93. Holds 21psi to redline and just pulls forever. I am extremely happy with the 2.5r even tho it spools later then the 3.0r. Once again big props to melo and the whole precision Crew Next mod 6spd swap and more boost .

Heres the dyno chart, mod list ect.

Why does this one spool slower than the 3.0r? I thought the 2.5r was a smaller turbo but still had the same ball bearing center section?

Awesome numbers nonetheless. That thing has got to roll out.

+1 I have this same turbo and its spooling a lot sooner.
Though, I have IWG, Top mount, and running 19 psi(pump), 22(meth--currently being serviced my aquamist).

You are making more power than me though.

that is EXTREMELY late spool. good peak numbers but i would have expected spool earlier than 4k.. not 4500+... check for pre-turbo exhaust leaks... and the fire-ring in the EWG. something just doesnt seem right.

keep in mind everyone peak torque (which the graph shows) is not peak boost, peak boost usually occurs around 500 rpm before peak torque

that said it looks like it is still late for that turbo- so checking the exh gaskets ^^^^ might be a good idea

the 44mm ewg is a v-band flange is it not? there is a "fire-ring" or o-ring seal that seals this flange. if its not in there you could be leaking and not even know it.

Power is definitely coming on way late for that sized turbo. Hits 200whp after 4K rpm which is GT30R or bigger lag. I would guess something is wrong.

Edit: Actually I just noticed they started the pull at 3K rpm. Start a pull earlier in the rpm range and see if boost comes on earlier.

that definitely isn't spooling as quickly as my friend's 2.5R that he installed on his Legacy GT. He initially had problems with the first version which had excessive porting on the internal wastegate passage, causing it to blow open too early, but the second version turbo fixed it, and it performs well.

How are you guys commenting on spool? The dyno readout only has power and torque plots?

we are assuming full spool comes on around 500 rpm before peak torque
