It's not making Big Al numbers, but the usable power compared to the TD04 is much, much better. Road tuned by Clark Turner last month.

Why go with a VF40? It only flows like 40cfm more than the TD04. If you're going to do a turbo swap why not at least do a Deadbolt as its also a bolt on turbo? Or why not get a VF40 with an 18G conversion by Deadbolt? I'm not a huge fan of Deadbolt by the way, its just that they offer the only bolt ons for our cars.

I've seen other people (Al for one) post about 250whp with a intake & exhaust on the stock td04. I bet your car does feel better though!

At least its a little better than the stage 2 numbers I posted here the other day.

Weird, the hp curve is like a flat line across. As for torque omgz lots of it! But it falls so fast....

Why Vf40?

Why Vf40?
because it was cheap with no other work needed. Driving the TD04 in high RPMs made me I know the numbers aren't impressive, but the power doesn't fall off sooooo bad like the TD04. Which to me, makes the driving much more better.

It was dyno'd at 5312' I should edit my post, I have a AVO 3" catless DP with a custom 3" exhaust. But even with the stock exhaust, the AVO is sooo quiet. I thought it would be louder with my new exhaust, and it really isnt

i think those #'s are good for the elevation man you got good amount of torque and the reason why the hp is the way it is due to the air being thiner at that elevation. either way man good #'s. by the way what octane were you guys using in new mexico?

^^^ For that price, machine a VF40 compressor cover onto a used VF30/34/39/43 and viola - STi power. Works well on my 05 LGT.

I wanted to do that, but I was on a time constraint to do this. Bad, bad planning on my part.

i thought you could bolt on a 39, but you would need to do the older style intercooler with it.

VF45 will bolt up. Better low end, better mid, and a little better top end than the td04's.

I had my Stage 2 03 WRX Protuned at Revolutions Performance in Colorado Springs which is like 6000ft above sea level and they only use a 1.15 correction factor... Made 200AWHP/195AWTQ at 15psi.
