Default How much is too much?

So i am swapping my auto out and putting in a 5 spd manual transmission in my 1999 2.5RS. I found a deal with a guy that has all the parts that I need for $600 and it has 148k miles on everything...I was talking to my dad and he thinks that is way too much mileage on parts to put into the car. If I was to buy all of this what kind of things should I ask the seller about the parts? If I buy it, would I want to get the tranny checked by a tranny specialist?

This is the list of the parts:
Manual Transmission
Manual Transmission Mounts
Shifter Assembly (shifter, plate, gasket bushings)
Shifter Linkage
Manual Drive shaft
Manual Rear Differential
Clutch Cylinder(s)
Manual Clutch/Brake Pedals/Box
Manual Transmission Starter
Clutch Cable if not hydrolic
Manual Transmission ABS Module

i wouldnt think 148k miles would be bad for a tranny, just check the input shaft bearing. If the input shaft moves alot, might not want to buy it.

You could get the tranny checked out, hopefully it wouldnt be too expensive, never had that done, so I dont know about the cost.
