Default New member with bad bad dealer experience

Hi, all actually I've been registered with the forum for a while but never posted. I'm not new to Subaru, had a 95 impreza, and 05 Saabaru 9-2x. Now I decided to go with a 08 WRX, and it has been a nightmare making story short:

I checked local dealers but all they had was new till I finally found two used 08 WRXs premium at Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru in Orangeburg NY, their prices seemed really good so I decided to go with them.

I figured I will pay $10K down and finance the rest, everything seemed peachy till I walked into the dealership. The service was nice, and the sales person seemed like an all right guy, all that ended when the their finance guy stepped in. a cocky guy, who seemed to know everything better. He would not even let me finish a sentence, unless I yelled at him. When I asked about my APR for the loan, he said hell find it out for me. Me and my dad waited for 3 hours for him to get everything done. 3 + hours later he came over gave us the paper work to sign, without saying a word. Before signing it, I read it, and the rate and it was 7.2%, "What?? A guy with perfect credit history and good paying job, why so high? "; I asked.
I told the guy when I checked the rate a month ago we had a 5.5 rate for a loan, so he went to Capital One website crunched in some numbers and came up with 11% WTF, after arguing with him for half an hour we finally settled on 6.9.
(by the way I checked Capital One the next day and the rate was 5.45% for me). Finally we had the paper work all set.... I thought, the guy did not want to give me the title, instead he waned to mail it to NY registration, although I live in Massachusetts. ( which would take up to 60 days to get the title back, from what my insurance agent told me). After countless phone calls they finally send out the papers to my insurance in MA. The problem was, they mailed it on Friday instead Thursday. If everything was all set by Thursday as it was supposed to be in any other normal dealer, I planned on taking a train on Saturday morning, and driving the car back. so much for my perfect plan. That means I have no plates for the car till Monday, how the hell am I supposed to get to work now??? All they seid about it it was a small mistake with the tiles.
I'm still fighting to get a rental paid by them for me to drive there and pick up the car, we'll see how that goes.
Any suggestions....

P.S. I'll never deal with them again in my life, I've been to many dealers but they so far are the worse experience I ever had. If I knew I would have so many problems whit them I would pay a little more here in Mass., and got a new WRX.

Always do your homework & research on the net, first. Save yourself the aggravation of this type of stuff & talk w/the dealership first by the net. Every dealership I've dealt with handles your purchase differently if contacted by the net and you'll deal w/the net/fleet salesman. They know you've done your research, know invoice pricing, finance rates, etc, already & usually are straight forward w/you. Just my 2 cents & hopefully next time is a better experience.

You should've just walked out. Both parties are trying to get the best out of the deal but if you don't agree with something and they're being stupid about it take your business elsewhere. Never settle just because you would like it right now. There's always next time and sometimes it's better to be patient.
As long as you got a good deal out the situation though be happy with your new ride and f*** them guys.

I'm with the other guys here. Some dealerships have a guaranteed 36 hour (or whatever) return policy, where you can flat out return the car. If you can do that, do it, wait the three to four months, do some research on here for some good dealerships in your area, and pick up the vastly superior '09 WRX.

even at great dealerships, the accounting/finance department can try to screw you over. You have to be aware of what you can be approved of and rates before hand. They love to throw a point or two into the financing just to get more money out of the deal.

I've had a dealership tell me that because of my credit score they would have to finance at the higher rate. I said what my 770 credit score isn't good enough for the advertised rate? And promptly walked out.
