Let's get some specifics out of the way.
What model is the woofer? (Comp/CompVR/CompVT/CompVX/L5/L7)
What is the ohm impedance of the woofer?
Exactly what amp do you have? (brand/model/# of channels)
How is the amp wired up?
Is it running JUST the subwoofer?
Who did the amp install?
Where is the amp?
How solid are the connections at the battery?
Where and how is the amp grounded?
What kind of head unit are you using?
