Default PureOne Filter for WRX

I know the Purolator filter for the WRX is **14460 forget the first two letters. I was looking for the PureOne filter but they only come in part # **14459. I compared them side to side and they look identical, threads look the same as well. Any idea if they make a PureOne filter in part #14460 or if the 14459 fits?

The difference between the 14458 and 14460 is the offset in the base - the 14460 is pretty flat, the 14459 is more concave and needs a slightly longer threaded inlet pipe. You can use either, but the 14459 will not thread as fully as the 14460. On most filter makers they only make a 14459 type filter, and yet they rate it for our cars - see the Fram guide for instance.

I bought a pureone filter part number PL14460. So they do make it, unless the box it came in is lying to me.

The purolator premium plus part number is L14460.

Parts America has the pureone filter for the wrx. Just click the link "Parts for your car" and enter your zip, and then input your cars info (make, model, year) and you'll find it.
