Lightbulb Religulous (movie)

Should be an interesting movie, I figure it could use its own thread. Comes out in the U.S. this fall.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0815241/

Trailer:

but it does have to do with how retarded the person is.

it's pretty much a direct correlation.

Yep, I love the unamused looks at the end of that clip.

good thing this country wasn't founded by religious people, because can you image where we would be today if that had been the case.

wow... I'm actually pretty surprised by some of you guys' ignorance..(unless you guys are all being sarcastic and I didn't catch it)

I totally agree that religious nuts (those who try to shove their religion down people's throats) are completely off the wall and I definitely wouldn't want someone like that in any position of leadership. However, I don't see any problems with a person who goes to church on Sundays and who believes in creationism (and keeps it to himself) being in a political/leadership position

there's nothing wrong with religion, but belief in Creationism is just plain ridiculous. If you don't want to accept the theories put forth by science, but still can't explain how 'it' happened, just say "I dunno" but don't go about making museums dedicated to Creationism that show dinosaurs living with cavemen 6000 years ago.

As Bill Mahr pointed out in the video, one of the ideals of creationism is to believe in Adam and Eve and a talking snake. If you believe a snake used to talk then you are retarded.

Question to the creationists: Why don't snakes talk anymore?

Ummm...delusions aren't healthy. Delusional people shouldn't be in charge.

Let's be honest. Most politicians are only "religious" to pander to the lowest common denominator.

See but the problem is that people who believe in it don't keep it to themselves. In fact, they go as far as to say that any idea that is different, or any fact proving them wrong was set there by the debbil and god is testing the rightous.

i'm not gonna get into a religious debate, but you obviously are attacking something you know nothing about. In the first few chapters of the bible it explains in clear english why snakes don't talk anymore.

also creationist don't believe in cave men, in the way an evolutionist would define cave man.
