Default 04 WRX uppipe down pipe into an 08 WRX

My friend just parted out his 04 WRX and Im interested in getting some parts from him. I was told that the 08 WRX needs a longer down pipe so that wont fit, so will the up pipe fit in my car?

Also, i just ordered perrin's stage I APv2 and is going to upload their custom map for stage 1 this weekend. If i install the up pipe, can I drive with it on a stage 1 map until I get the full tbe and go stage II?

Stage 1 AccessPORT used to be no modifications necessary at all.

I don't think the '08 has a catted uppipe so there should be no reason to replace your stock uppipe.

You do NOT need the up-pipe.
If your looking to get a down-pipe but still want to have a cat in the system Daddys has a shorty down-pipe for the 08 WRX (and LGT) for $239. You will get a CEL, but that is defeatable.

yea you don't NEED the uppipe like others have said, but replacing the uppipe on the 06-07 wrx (with no cat in the stock uppipe) gives you about 10whp w/o a tune. aftermarket uppipes have a larger diameter than the stock one. See David Buscher's thread.

however, i'm not sure about the size of the 08 uppipe.
