COBB gave up on the NA market before they could release the NA AP. Us NA guys really only have 3 options: OpenSource Tune, Piggy Back, or Stand Alone. Currently for the 08/09's we have to wait a little bit for software like RomRaider to add support for CAN based cars (coming soon from what I understand) before we can OpenSource Tune. Until then we only have Piggy Back or Stand Alone options.

If you haven't gotten the car yet, then just get the WRX hatch if you want to make alot of power. Boost gives you the best bang for the buck. HP mods on NA will make the car drive nicer, but will never match the power potential of the WRX or STI.

Hate to say it, but the guy's right, if you haven't bought one yet.

Opensource is great though BTW, I don't think people give it enough credit. Just need that tactrix cable and a laptop...

His 05 is almost certainly already supported for tuning by RomRaider.

His 05 is almost impossible to tune with a piggyback as it spends almost no time in open loop (the only place a piggyback can work).

His 05 is probably not worth running a stand alone on unless the engine is HIGHLY modded.

His 05 is not the vehicle in question, its the 08 OBS he's looking at.

Yup, I don't have the Tactrix 2.0 cable yet so I'm asking people in my area to bring theirs to the next meet up so we can pull a bunch of ROMs for submission. We got alot of 08's floating around now so it'd be prime to get those ROMs in so they can update RomRaider.

That would really help the effort to get 08 support.

Yeah, we go my 08 2.5i, a couple 08 WRXs, and a few 08 STIs that show up. We also got a bunch of 08 and I think at least one or two 09 Foresters that show up too.

Make sure that, if you have more than one of a given year and model, you pull the ROM from all of them to make sure they're the same.

I already did the turbo deal. 13.0 For a forester XT on 100octane and a turbo back wasnt to bad. The only problem is that going back and forth to work sitting at 4000 rpm doesnt help with gas mileage. I was lucky to get 15mpg on the highway without a tune.
My 96 impreza with 270,000 miles impresses me more. I dont like the WRX hatch. I think with the 2 tone paint it makes it look like a different car.
With 09 Forester suspention and some off roady stuff it should be fine. Getting a Ducati so the speed issue really is "that much" of a factor.
I cant believe they gave up on the N/A AP after it took like 2 years to come out with the header for 2.5RS.
