Are you sure you had the Cobb Stage 2 map loaded on the car before you were tuned? The AFR's as well as the power curve look a lot more like a stock map. Also, please tell me you weren't running meth injection on a Cobb STG 2 map, because you were almost certainly loosing power if you were.

Regardless the tune looks reasonably solid, although I have gotten similar numbers out of 06-07 WRX's on just 91 octane.

Yep I'm sure i had the Cobb AP installed correctly. I wasn't running the meth on the Cobb tune. I installed the kit the night before my tune and the base run we did we made sure the meth was not on. Ray said theres more power to be gained but this is my DD and i wanted a super reliable tune.

^^ Yeah I think there was to. I contacted Cobb and I downloaded the most current tune. The AP worked perfect so it must have been something with my car. Either way the results are great and it feels like a new car.

You should know by now that all Subbies are creatures of their own nature and not any 2 make the same #'s. Looks pretty average on both tunes.

Although I will agree everything except the protune WTQ are lower than expected.

Scott Seigel made my car gain 67awhp and 89awtq just by playing with his computer

the cobb stage 2 maps are just base maps. they arent maps that fully tunes the car.

Playing with his computer?? You mean running the Dyno through SAE?

That's correct they are made to accommodate all STI's/WRX/FXT blah blah. At best they will limp you along on the very rich side until you can gat a custom protune.

You need to lay off Urban Dictionary>

Those numbers are actually low except the WTQ is pretty spot on.

If you disconnected the battery while you were hooking up the meth kit, then you deleted any real time maps that the AP was running.

Correct and before the first pull we reset the reset the ECU and re-flashed the stage Cobb stage 2 file.

I am curious to know what number you would think would more on par? I know there are other 06 WRX's making more HP but from what I've seen they have more mods then my set up.

the gains seem fine to me.

people are probably comparing it to sti's so they think the gains should be more.

the td04 is small and is dead on the 2.5L at higher rpm....the vf39 is better but still small

if you put a 20g or a Green on there with that meth your power is gonna jump by 100-150whp depending on how much you want to push it

^^^ Thats is exactly what Ray (tuner) said. After he was done and we were chatting he said a 20g would be perfect for my setup. If i wanted this car to be a high HP car i would make it one. I like that for a minimal amount of money I have more power then a stock STi and in some cases a stage 1 STi. I know that bc Ray tuned an STi with a catback and it made 280hp and 300TQ.

thats a real high reading dyno, but good numbers none the less. 20g is nice, i wouldnt mind if my green spooled a little faster.

Well that explains. The Cobb staged maps start off with a Dynamic Advance Multiplier of .5, ie: you were only running HALF of the DA in the map. If you had driven the car for a few miles before the baseline pull the DAM would have incremented up to 1 and you would have run full DA and made a bunch more power on the Cobb map. That sure is an easy way to make a big delta between the Cobb map and the tuned map...

wouldnt/shouldnt we be able to see the meth turn on via the AFR plot if it was run on the base map pull?

maybe thats whats on the second plot and was called "clutch slip"

Yeah.. I dont know.. Thats why I asked man.. I do know that if a stock turbo 06 read that much WHP it must have been on meth or the dyno was Very high... Its a td04... I have tuned many many 06-07 WRXs over the cobb map. Many times peak power does not come up more then 10 to 20whp. But the area under the curve comes up 30whp and 60ft lbs of trq. I noticed he had AEM meth kit listed so I was curious if he ran the meth kit with the cobb map which would have lowered his power.

car was on the cobb map the base pull and the meth was turned off, i disconnected the vacum line going to the meth line before doing that pull.

i think over all the car is in par with all of the other meth injected td04's i have done, i would really love to see a 20g on this car.

At least as far as peak numbers go, what in the world were you expecting an OTS map to get you?

Looks just about what you should have expected on the stock turbo...
