Default For those who have had the decelleration noise/rattling fixed...

This question is for anyone that has had the decel. noise fixed by SOA either with the clutch replacement or rebuilt trannies.

Has anyone had the noise start up again? Mine is great, I was just wondering for the guys that have had this done for a while already.

Yes, my noise is back. It was quiet for about 500 miles after the clutch change. The noise is relatively mild right now, it won't bother me too much if it doesn't get any worse. But we'll have to see how it develops once the weather gets warmer again.

What clutch are you on?

(looking for the good drugs as opposed to the bad drugs,
just in case)

I had mine replaced probably 5000 miles ago and the noise is still gone.

Default I got the wrong parts......

And my noise came back after a solid 3-400 miles. All I think they did was give me a heavier flywheel. You can read all about it in the main post on this.

Jenison - exactly what clutch and flywheel do you have and what is the build date of your car. If subaru won't fix mine a second time (once it warms up around here and I can demo the sound consistantly), I'm going for an aftermarket clutch, but I want one that don't rattle!!!!!

Thanks,

Kevin

Are you guys talking about the rattle when decelerating in third gear? Or are you talking about the older problem of buzz when shifting? I got my clutch assembly replaced before purchse b/c I noticed the buzz when shifting at RPMs over 3000, but now just am noticing a rattle like a heatshield loose under the engine when decelerating in third gear (only third right now)

Just wondering which issue you're talking about so I can get the same fix you guys get! Keep me posted!

Thanks.
