Default New wheels, different offset--should I get alignment?

Sorry for the newbish question. I'm about to purchase some new wheels (currently on stock WRX wheels and suspension; stock height). I'm toying around with two options: 18x8 et48 and 18x8.5 et44. Will I need to get an alignment with either one of these sets? In other words, is it necessary to get alignment after installing wheels with a different offset?

P.S. I know that I'll have to roll rear fenders with 18x8.5 et44 wheels.
