Default Wide Tires and Rims Question

I just bought a new set of rims, 18x8.5 and a set of tires as well Falcon Azenis 615 R/T 245-40-18

this is my first time owning rims and somewhat performance tires... i noticed when i drive on the road (its been raining the past couple of days) that sometimes the tires would jerk the steering wheel. On bumps on the road and stuff. Its not all the time, just all of a sudden it would jerk the wheel to the side. What could be the problem? Could it be tire pressure? My wheel nuts not being tight enough? Or could the rims be bent??
any advice for a first time buyer? i did inspect the wheels when i bought them and they looked brand new...

i spoke with the guy that i bought the tires from and he said to see if my wheel nuts are long enough to hold down the wheels... and also to check air pressure

its just a little more sensative than im used to, because performance is a little unpredictable, i find it hard to drive in bad conditions probably because im paranoid and dont know when the tires would "jerk" next. Is this normal? Is this how a wide tire would handle? I was under the assumption that it would be smoother than what i had before (stock subaru setup)

tires that are wider, have lower sidewalls, rims that have different offsets than factory are more prone to tramlining (the tendency to follow lines and such on the road)

^this article explains it

it even talks about how people coming off of winter tires and going to HP summer tires most often are surprized by 'tramlining', which sounds like your situation perhaps

thanks for that link, it was very informative
i guess its just because the tires are alot more sensative with alot more grip than i am used to... also, i will get the car balanced out when i get new springs, so hopefully that will take care of the problem a bit
