Default thinking about getting the bed extender

can you easily switch it out when it's needed? I know it requires some level of installation, but once that work is all done does it ever get to a point where I can keep it stored somewhere, and when necessary, pull it out and hook it up? or this a permanent/semi-permanent installation?

The bed extender is a neat feature and yes it is removable as pleased. The extender comes with 2 brackets and 4 screws that replace the four as indicated in the instructions. Installation level for this "mod" is a 2 because it's too easy. If you are interested in a bed extender, try to look for it used with accesories because the extender is not that cheap. Go check craiglist and keep up ebay because deals can be found if you have some patience. Good luck

I love mine. It is very light and easy to swap out. The brackets have not been a hindrance at all... In fact they have come in handy for bungee cords across. I usually keep mine folded in and it helps to hold a tool box in place, but can easily fit in the back seat. I also have a tonneau cover and it fits under that as well. Good Luck!

I have one for sale. Just needs mounting hardware. Let me know if you are interested. Its brand new, never been used. I even have it all packed up in a box and ready to ship if needed.

after learning it's not too bad of an install and that it's easy to swap in and out I went ahead and ordered one as a Christmas present to myself.

sorry Samirr :-\

Samirr76 I would buy your bed extender, but I bet the shipping would be retarded and defeat the idea of a good deal

FYI: You can find the mounting brackets cheap $35 cheap set

Shipping is about $45 (and thats all the way to Texas from Pennsylvania), plus $50 for the bed extender seems like a pretty good deal to me, compared to buying a "new" one from a Subaru dealer for $200.
