Default Mahindra: “We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Jeep Nameplate”

.although some US dealers might be nice! Indian firm Mahindra and Mahindra showed this tasty little neo-Willys at the recent Bologna auto show. The the 12-foot long, 1.5 ton off-roader concept sports a 2.5 liter diesel four, making 108 hp and 250 Nm. And since it is just a concept, that’s about all the info that could dig up.

2.5 litre turbo diesel willies? Sweet.

Although I can only make out about half the write up, my German is poor.

They've been producing these GP/Jeep reproductions, albeit different engines, in India since WWII - first with Willys, then with Jeep - so they must have some type of an arrangement with Chrysler.

Mahindra has been making Jeep copies (with permission) for many years.

around 15 years ago when I was a kid, we used to get this body style model by Mahindra in India, it used to be called the Jeep Commander, then india became capitalist and Mahindra had to remove the use of the name Jeep.
Not sure what the engine spec was for it then as I was only a kid and more interested in powerful cars like Toyota corolla's and Honda civic's

The open air model, which is led still as study, is scarcely four meters long according to data of the enterprise and weighs approximately 1.5 tons. The four seater with fold-cover of a Vierzylinder Common Rail Diesel with 2,5 litres capacity and 108 HP one propels. The aggregate achieves a maximum torque of 250 Newtonmeters. To road performances, consumption and series prospects the enterprise did not give data yet.

So it looks like a CJ would be a better buy.
