Default Help with fenders.............

OK, so i screwed up with purchasing some 18x9's for my 05 STI. They look great, but inorder for them to fit appropriately i need to roll the fenders in the rear.

I've taken it to 4 different body shops and no-one is able to help. 3 refused to touch it, the 4th gave it a go but told me that there simply wasn't enough to roll out.

has anyone else encountered this probelm? Does anyone know of a reputable body shop that has worked on rolling 05 STI fenders? If not, it looks like I'll have lost quite a bit money on some bad advice

I live in NC

Thanks for any help!

www.rollyourfender.com has all the details of how to do it yourself, and you can rent a kit from them. I rolled my rear fenders this past summer (though, I borrowed a local fender roller and bought my own heat gun), and it's pretty straight forward -- it just requires a healthy amount of patience.

Now, will rolling your fender work for your specific car/wheel/tire/suspension combination? I don't know. But, I'm sure if you post your wheel offset, spring model and lowering, and tire model and size, somebody on this forum should be able to give you good guess whether rolling your fender will be all you need.

Edit: Just saw the OP's thread in the MAIC. Evidently much more work is required to roll your fenders (05-07 STi). Follow the advice given there!

yup... there isn't much fender to roll on the rear of 05-07 STi's. There's a how-to here in this forum somewhere... it involves removing the overfender trim, massaging the sheetmetal, and replacing the trim. What size tire & offset are you running? Maybe run a narrower tire? What suspension are you running? can you possibly add more rear camber?
