Default Newbie car wash question

I need to take my wrx for its first car wash! I was wondering, if I go through on of those drive through washes that just uses high pressure water, could it damage my intercooler or disfigure the thin metal passages in it? Tanks a lot!!! Aaron

i take it through touchless car washes during the winter quite frequently. no problems. just make sure you wipe it down after the wash to rid water spots.

Yeah, I use a touchless.. I get out and use the non-automatic one. Call me a freak, but it just looks better to me.

Do it by hand. Makes her happier. I did mine today. Used Mother's Car Wash, Pre-Wax, and Carnuba Wax. Looks like a big, sexy blue mirror.

Hand hand hand!!! Yea I hate it whenever I need to spend too much time cleaning it (or possibly waxing too). But it's my precious baby, so I guess I couldn't complain too much. Shhhh...at least this baby doesn't complain to me back versus my g/f.

the auto washes that you drive through wont damage your intercooler, but it might hurt the paint with all its mighty harsh pads. and they are so dirty. my friend worked at a place that had one of those auto washes, and had to clean out the gutter. he told me how dirty it was and i will never take any kind of car through those.
id wash the car myself. you're more careful, and personally its more fulfilling.
