Default fuel pressure at idle

i recently changed my fuel filter and while doing this, I noticed that the fuel flow at idle was not smooth. I put my hand on the "out" line on the filter and at idle it felt like there was fluctuation in the fuel pressure but was fluctuating at a constant rate. my idle is still smooth so i'm just wondering if this is characteristic of 2.5rs fuel pumps because i know wrx fuel pumps are not like that. any advice would be appreciated.
