Default Ixiz Concepts Hood Damper SS

Here is a review of the Ixiz Concepts Hood Damper, I will start out with a qoute from the Vendor.

For driving enthusiast that demands functionality and simplicity. IxizHood replaces the hood prop with a set of pneumatic hood lifts. Improves the visual effects of the engine bay of race or show cars while also allowing for easier access to the engine compartment.
Installs in less than 10 minutes with basic tools.
No drilling nor rivetting.
Hardware is corrosion resistant.
NEW stainless hardware available.
Secure custom CNC brackets will not shift during usage.
Opening motion is smooth and precise.

NEW - All stainless hardware available
Carbon Hoods - Please email for inquiry
IxizHood will be available for the SUBARU FORESTER
Ratings out of 0 being lowest and 10 being the greatest

Here is a little install on my 2004 Wrx limited

Tools needed:
10mm ratchet wrench
12mm ratchet wrench
5mm allen key

Parts Required for Install
Hood Dampers - 2
5mm Allen Bolts -2

Step One
Using the 10mm wrench remove from the middle bolt in the fender on both driver side and passenger

Step Two
Using 12mm wrench remove the top bolt on the hood hinge.

Step Three
Grab the 5mm Allen head bolt and allen key and tigheten into the hood hinge. Be sure you have the appropriate damper for each side.(note: on the damper the adapter bracket should be on the inside and the mount on the outside.)See pictures

Right side

Left Side

Step Four
Now that the strut is installed to the hood. Mounting to the fender should be easy, Using the 10mm OPEN end wrench tighten the bottom side into the fender.(Be Careful when doing this, you might have to lift the hood higher to thread the bolt in,do not cross thread it)

Step Five
You are done. throw away your garbage and save the bolts bc you may never know.

This has been the best mod of mine becuase it makes it so much easier to work in the engine bay without the hood prop there. it makes everything look very clean.

Bump for One of the BEST products you can buy for your car! If you do any work at all under the hood, you will benefit from these...or even if you just like to show off what you've got under the hood for pictures or at meets. With a quick twist and tug...the fuglistick will never be used or get in the way again.

I met the owner of IxizConcepts at a local mall. Within 5 minutes, my hood was able to hold itself up own its own! Also, Ming is one of the nicest vendors you will ever come across. He has even supported his products that were bought used!

Side note : If you do install these on your own, "using your head" will make this just as easy as installing with 2 people.

pick them up here!
