Default Timing Belt

I think it broke yesterday. Where's a good place to go get it torn apart and looked at? I called one performance shop and they said the timing belt wouldn't cause any other damage on a Subaru engine so I'm still looking.

If your car is a wrx and the timing belt broke, it could be very bad,

what makes you think it broke?? you should take off the timing covers on the front of the motor and see if it broke

Yeah like Evil said, if your belt did in fact break that could be a TKO on the motor. Pull the Timing cover off and take peak or take it to Goodspeed or FAT

I got in touch with FAT, they'll do the timing belt and compression test. Thanks!

Whoever told you that a broken timing belt wont hurt your DOHC Subaru motor is an idiot . If it did break be ready to shell out the cash for repairs . FAT FTW call Robert .

It was a guy answering phones at FAT, I don't remember his name. He put me on hold and cleared it up. He said the last two subies that came through with broken timing belts didn't need any other maintenance. I hope I'm the 3rd lucky guy...

Isn't the service interval 90K on the timing belt? I'm going to make sure I get it done then.

The mechanic got it running and it's knocking, like all the spun rod bearings on youtube. Anyone know where I can get a longblock?
