2005 Subaru WRX

Default How does a Cobb Accessport work and will it work with my parts?

I have a 2005 Subaru WRX 5 speed manual. I might sound like a idiot but how does the Cobb access port work? Will it sync with my k&n typhoon, skunk2 exhaust and a Invidia dp and up im thinking of buying? Thanks for the help. I am a noob you dont gotta tell me lol. sorry i posted this twice.

There is a pretty good description of it.

Explaining exactly how it works could be very time consuming. Do you more of a specific question? How do you think it works and I can correct you....

I could write a 10 page essay on how the Cobb AP works and you still might not get it...

Basically its a map transportation device that has the ability to flash your ECU to help utilize modification from a performance AND reliability aspect.

you can either get an off the shelf(OTS) map that has your specific modifications included, or you can get a protune, where a tuner will tune specifically for your car and your mods(better tune, higher price). but like cynicx said, theres a lot more to it and it would take forever to explain.
