Default NC (Raleigh): 2.5L Hyrbid 04 WRX 4k miles!!!

Unfortunately I am forced to get rid of my rex since I can no longer afford to maintain it. Being a college student I am having a hard time paying for both schooling and modifying. The car is in pristine condition and if I had the money to finish modding it I would definately hold onto her.

List of mods when purchased:
-IHI VF34 BB Turbo
-STI Pinks (565cc)
-Perrin FMIC, Uppipe, Downpipe
-K&N Typhoon SRI
-Blitz Nur-Spec R CBE
-Walbro 255 pump
-Seibon CF Hood with raised scoop
-35% Tint
-Custom Leather Interior

Mods added since purchase:
-STI bottom end (ej257 block)
-Wiseco Pistons
-STI Rods
-Cosworth Bearings
-Synapse Synchronic BOV
-Hawk HPC brake pads
-Turbo XS Boost Con.
-Legacy GT gears
-COBB 2-way adjustable SS w/bushings
-SPEC stage 3+ clutch
-ACT Streetlite Flywheel
-STI gold BBS with BFG 235/45/17 G-Forces (8/32nds)
-Prosport Boost, Oil Press., Oil Temp. gauges

About the car:

It is a 2004 5 spd limited edition black wrx that was originally silver. The car itself has 55k miles on it now and has never been in an accident as can be seen on the carfax. However, it was repainted and the interior was redone prior to me purchasing it. Both of which turned out great. I bought the car in June for $13,500 with 48k miles on it. The two morons who sold it to me had no idea what they were doing which resulted in me spending ALOT of money to fix their mistakes. The transmission was the first to go and in place of the notoriously faulty gears, i put Legacy GT gears in. It now has 5k miles on it. While i was in there i decided to upgrade the clutch and flywheel as you can see above. The car has never been launched or tracked as long as ive owned it.

About 4-5 months later i spun a rod . I was pretty pissed at this point (as u can imagine) and rather than repair the wrx block i decided to go with the STI bottom end for more power. As a result, the increased displacement subsequently made it go from a 2.0 to a 2.5 liter. The engine now has 4k miles on it. I basically made this car into an STI the best i could on a college budget. I have the receipts for the engine and tranny work. The mods i have done are all obviously under 8 months old and when i purchased the vehicle the owner said the car was bone stock when he bought it and he started modding at 42k miles. So none of the modifications are over 15k miles old.

The car dynoed 271whp and 321 ft./lb. yesterday at National Speed. Upon further interest I can supply the graph.

Once again there are no problems with the car and when you test drive it you will easily be able to verify this. I simply cannot afford anything else for the car even though i was no where near done modifying it. I am willing to meet up anywhere in the triangle area and in and around Wilmington.

I'm asking $18,500 obo

I understand that the car has a rebuilt motor with a new block, and a rebuilt tranny but 19.8k is very high. If you really want to sell it because you are in college and cant afford both then price it where it will sell, at 13k. It will not sell for that much, since there are way more options at that price range. Plus I dont think a bank is going to give a loan to someone for that price when the car doesnt book out at that price. Not trying to be a douche. Just being realistic.

Actually Rexwagon03, i feel the price is fairly reasonable. Essentially the buyer will be getting an almost new blob eye. You are right that there are many other options for that price for instance a hawk eye or the new wrx hatch but they wont put out nearly as much power from the factory as this car has. It basically comes down to if the buyer prefers this body over the newer models. I am willing to flex somewhat on the price if you care to make an offer...

If the car was never wrecked, why was the entire car repainted? Stock brakes and suspension? Do you have receipts for everything? Are you VERY negotiable on that price?

The car was never wrecked, atleast that i know of, the carfax verifies this. Maybe the car got keyed when the previous owner had it or perhaps he just got tired of silver. Either way, the paint job is thick and well done. The door jams arent painted black but with the way he re-did the seats (black with silver on the sides, as can be seen above) it compliments the paint job very nicely and looks really good.
I put Hawk Ceramic pads on about 2 months ago on all 4 wrx disc brakes.
The suspension would have been next on my list if i decided to keep it...so no, factory suspension but with a nice set of coilovers it would look really sexy.
I have all the receipts from the tranny and motor work but as far as parts go, i dont have but one or two since most of the stuff I purchased and had put on was installed in the builds and therefore covered by those receipts.

PM me and clarify what you mean by "VERY negotiable".

problem is that you can buy an 04-05 Sti with the same miles for less than you're asking. Even with your nice mods, most people would prefer and Sti. IMO

my bugeye is gone

Default

apparently every WRX is worth 12-13k regardless of its year or mileage. People want a bugeye with low miles so they will only offer 13k and then turn around and buy one with over 100k for the same price. Now someone with an '04-'05 WRX is only offered 13k as well. So apparently regardless of the year or mileage everyone should sell their WRX's for 13k or less, maybe this is why so many ricers are getting ahold of these cars. Hold on to the car until you get your asking price or near it, there is someone who is wanting exactly what you have. While 18,500 might be on the high side that is why there is an O.B.O after the price, if someone doesn't agree with it they can make a reasonable offer. Also, while some people can buy an STi for this same price the insurance is more and a lot of people are pushed away from STi's because of that. This would be a fast car with a lower insurance rate. Personally I think the only thing holding you back, and it would push me away, is the fact that the car is now black and the door jams and engine bay weren't resprayed to match. Sorry for the rant. Bump it up.

Good call on the insurance aspect coolcatcolin, i didnt even think about mentioning that. As far as the door jams go I mean i bought the car like that because after seeing it in person it didnt look that bad with the way the interior was redone. Thanks again for the bump.

I bought a car from a dealer WITH a carfax report and was cleared, traded it in at another dealer and a month later they called me asking if knew it had more than 25% damage done to it. So not all shops report to carfax to me carfax dosent mean squat!!

well i really care about your opinion...I truly feel after having it for almost a year now that it was never involved in an accident. The worst thing i can think of was maybe that it was keyed and then repainted because of it. Everything is immaculate on the car except for a couple scratches on the cf that can probably be wetsanded out.
