Default Will Stage 2 clutch mess up my stock WRX

I have a 2005 WRX bone stock. Im planning on doing a catless up pipe downpipe and full exhaust. Last week I wa s doing some offroading and all of the sudden whenever I put the car in gear and gave it some gas, the wheels werent moving. When I put it in first and let the clutch go right away the car wouldnt die. My buddy told me its my clutch so I bought a new clutch kit. I was happy it was just the clutch so I just went ahead and bought a Stage 2 clutch. But then my other buddy said that having a stage 2 clutch in a stock trans is really bad for my trans. So i just need to know whats up.

Everyone's 'Stage 2' is different. But in my opinion, any organic-type clutch should be fine. It's really all about how you drive though, more than anything. There are people out there, myself included, who run 6-pucks with no problems, though that's not something I'd recommend, because it's a whole different clutch.

With your power goals, a near-stock clutch would be fine.

There is no such thing as a Stage 2 clutch, you have the clutch manufacturer and the clutch part number. You buy clutches based on torque level and that's it. You bought the wrong clutch more than likely and this could have been avoided by reading the Clutch & Flywheel FAQ stickied at the top fo this forum. Yes...you have the wrong clutch. Having too much clutch can be bad for a transmission.
