Default 1969 Subaru Sambar II Converted To Ferrari Spec

Quote:
Folks, I’m torn. Like TMR’s Tony O’Kane, I’m unnaturally obsessed with Japanese cars – especially the ones we’re not lucky enough to see on Aussie roads.
But, like most three-legged males, I’m also a fan of exotic European supercars.
So when I see this classic Japan-market 1969 Subaru Sambar II ‘kei’ truck flamboyantly waving a Ferrari flag, I can’t decide if it’s the best of both worlds, or an utter abomination.
If it’s the latter, at least it’s an exquisitely well done abomination… maybe… err… maybe not.

The owner of this little monster has left no corner of the diminutive Subaru untouched, with a full leather interior, gauges, gearstick knob and aluminium pedals all executed in the trademark Ferrari style.

Fezza badging and tiny circular tail lights finish off the look nicely.

A little disingenuous (to say the least) to list it on ebay as Ferrari.

Something about no torsional rigidity would spook me.

Look it may have all the rigidity in the world, but it looks like it is about to fold in half. Not saying it will, it just looks that way.

I think he meant "why?" as in "Dear God why would someone do that?"

That's a cutout of the Ferrari logo.

Is it? Looks like peeling floor to me. Either he needs a new camera or I need a new monitor

If you're going to put all that time and money into it, why sell it? No one is going to pay very much for a pasta'd (lol) Sambar.

Remember, pick-up trucks don't have any structural support in the bodywork.. it's all in the ladder frame. They always look like they're ready to bend in half to me as well.. you know since there's a gap between the cab and bed. This is no different than any other body on frame vehicle.
