Default Running a full sized spare

Ok guys I just got my self some work vs-xx's and my car is now lowered. So I really dont want to use the stock spare anymore. So I was thinking of getting a really cheap 17 inch rim to have as a spare. Now do you all think the size of it would matter or not?
Rims are 17x8.5 with 245/40's

I was going to look a for really cheap 17x7.5/8.0

Now do you guys think ill be ok with like a 215or225/45/17 or should i just get a matching size tire at 245/40?

You really should have the same diameter tire, so yeah, the same tire in a 245/40-17 is your safest option. A 215/45-17 is only 2mm smaller, so you'd probably be OK, but I wouldn't use it for too long.
