Default Anyone know anything about this car?

My brother was looking at this ride and asked me, but I have never seen it around.

I believe JDM models have forged pistons.

The car was registered in Puerto Rico and is now back to the states. I bet hes having a hard time getting it registered here.

Okay I'm the guy that you're looking for haha.

I found this car on NASIOC over a year ago and went to the guy's house and test drove it. Car drove very nice, it's tuned on Utec by Clark if I remember correctly. I think it was tuned for 93 but we have 91 here if none of you knew so he always mixes 100 and 91. The car pulls strong, I'm not going to lie. The car is IMMACULATE in person, I will vouch for that. Back when I test drove it the alarm wasn't letting it start but it was disabled for when I was there. The dome light wasn't installed. It wasn't registered in AZ because the car is from Puerto Rico. But all in all it was a very nice car. He had the engine taken apart at FAT and I sat on the phone with Robert for well over 2 hours talking to him about it (yes Ken, this is the car from the story I told you) and Robert said it's in excellent condition.

I called him back in February and he said the car had a new clutch in, it had been registered, and the alarm was getting fixed. He's on NASIOC but I've never seen him post anything but his forsale add a long time ago. I believe his name was AstacunWRX. If I wasn't on my friends computer I would look it up to make sure. Honestly the ONLY thing other then mods that would veer me away from this would be that he only put 20 miles on it in a year.... Kinda sketchy. The car is in Chandler off Ray and Rural, right by Corona High.

Just my .02

No ****, Seems like a lot of work to go through to find those pistons for this build when there are a host of very good aftermarket forged piston makers. I guess OEM is better though if you can swing it. Is the block a JDM block?

The car was built like 5 or 6 years ago I believe.. If I remember he means STI sized pistons, to fit the 2.5 block. They are forged forsure, But I doubt they're the Forester ones

Cool cool. I really like the car. It does look clean as hell. I actually think that wing isn't half bad.

This was the car I was telling you about that I looked at a while ago. I would ditch the wing and basically call it a day. It's immaculate. He had it forsale over a year ago, then stopped bumping the thread. I called him in the beginning of the year and surprisingly enough he still had it, I just never got around to going to look at it again.

Meh. 290 on a 30r with 93 seems a little... LOW. Could be the fact that the turbo is wayyyyy out dated. But after that RA gears scare me.

its a low number but could have been a very conservative tune or just on a low reading dyno. the turbo has the largest garrett chra offering for the 30r 700177-0015 . For a stock location and the age of the car it might be a machined AV0450 or 500..still a nice turbo..the numbers don't show its potential.

Exactly.

I would buy that car if everything checked out with it.

Car was just in my shop. Rebuild a leaking a/c hose for him. I drove the car, very freaking nice. Drives and handles great. He told me he just prefers to drive his new Jeep, as seen in the c-list pics. He is a nurse, or doctor or something. (was wearing scrubs) He talked to me about going today for emissions. It still has P.Rico plates, but he was worried that his Drive Cycles were not complete, and could fail emissions. It does NOT have a check engine light, but he has a scanner that told him it had like 2 systems that were not ready VIA drive cycle completion.

That is all.
