Default '17 WRX: How to remove dummy button plates on dash?

I want to run the Accessport cord out from the switch plate next to the traction control button. Anyone know how to remove that plate? Couldn't find any tabs on the back by blindly poking around.

I did this with mine. You have to pull off the side cover on the dash when you open the driver door. There is also a screw on the inside you need to remove. Someone has a video on YouTube that explains the process.

Pop off the side panel on the left. Unscrew. Then you pretty much just pop it off for me.

The dummy buttons are molded in to the panel. The panel is easy to remove.

It's a paaaaaain in the ass but you remove that panel (undo screws, pull outwards) then undo clips and take the entire thing out.

Important: You need 2x tiny flathead screwdrivers basically. There's clips on all (4) sides, but if you can wedge the small flathead between 2 sides basically you can push it out. Serious pain in the ass.. It took me like 20 mins using a watch screwdriver tool..

Once it's out though it's easy to put back in hahaha!

Also: It pushes OUT the BACK.

Not sure about the bottom one but the top one located to the left of the dimmer switch is not actually a pop out piece. It's a molded part of the whole panel. It looks like it will pop out but it doesn't. You could get a new panel for about $15 that has that piece missing however. P# for the panel with that faux piece already removed is 83472fj070vh
