Quote:
It's easy to enter your car, all you need is a Subaru, a camera, a place to host pictures, and the ability to type a coherent sentence or two***8230;

The requirements, as in you MUST HAVE the following to be considered.

  • No more than TEN pictures (that's the forum max) of your car can be posted in your entry thread, whatever you feel best shows off your hard work and imagination. Once the voting begins you are free to add more pictures. Bump away but try to think quality, not quantity.
  • A written description of your ride, the more detailed the better. We're talking about more than just a mod list, we want you to share the story behind your Scoob. Tell us why and how you bought it, what inspires you to modify it, and what all you've done to it and why. Most important is to tell us what you do with your car...race, show, cruise, polish with a diaper, whatever.
Think of it as your own magazine feature, the better you sell your car to the masses the better the chances of your Subaru becoming a Top Scoob.

  • You're more then welcome to start a campaign thread in your Regional Forum however the General, Off Topic, and Gallery forums are off limits to vote generating threads. If you already have a thread about your car in the Gallery feel free to bump away.

  • Trash talking is not welcome in this contest. If you need to tear down another competitor in an effort to build yourself up please do not bother to enter.

How it works
  • This is a contest, open to all Nasioc members that own a Subaru.
  • You must be the current owner of the car, no third party entries allowed.
  • Entries must be submitted to a specified Top Scoob thread stickied at the top of the Member's Gallery. The number of cars allowed is limited to a maximum of 25. Any themes or restrictions on entries will be clearly described before the contest begins. For example: GC Only, or Wagons Only, or 100% Bugeye Free, you'll get the idea.

Voting and Eliminations
  • There are three rounds of voting, each lasting 10 days.
  • After the First Round the cars placing in the bottom eleven positions will be knocked out.

  • After the Second Round the cars placing in the bottom eleven positions will again be knocked out.

  • The final three cars will go head to head to head in a final poll to select who has the Top Scoob.

  • *based on our maximum entry of 25 cars. Knockout cut offs and the number of first and second round threads will be adjusted at the start of the contest depending on the total number of entries.

  • Votes are automatically reset to zero at the start of each round.

  • In case of a tied vote for the last transfer spot in the first two rounds, the entrants involved will compete in a 24-hour Run Off vote.

If there is a tied vote for first place in the final round, a 72-hour Run Off vote will decide the winner.

I'm Ron Burgundy?

Default The Official Project 1 Outback

Its been a long time coming for me to be able to tell the complete story of this car. This car is my first car. I am now 24 and have had this car since i was 17. The car was a leased car for the first 2 years of its life. My family used this car to move pets, yard debris, and building supplies. You name it this car has had it in it. I began to modify it when I came across NASIOC. The WRX was just about to come out and I loved the thought of having my very own modified Subaru. I knew from the get go that this car was very much a family carryall but that never bugged me much. I just knew that I wanted to make it my own. When I met Ron (Greenlantern), Armin (Verdugo), Jamie (Subiegal), Dave (Saggiowrx), and a host of other enthusiasts my enthusiasm to modify the car spiked and has never dwindled. Many people have seen this car go from the stock suspension outback on the Cascade loop cruise that was lifting the rear wheel in the twisties, to the show winning wagon it is today. The car has been through 5 stereos, 2 exhaust setups, 4 suspensions, 2 engine configurations, and multiple exterior mods. I am about to begin the transformation which will be the end all stage. The cars newest theme is based off of the Japanese touge (Toe-gay) cars. A special thanks goes out to Armin and Garret of World One Performance for always helping get the best parts available, Tex Walker for his awesome Vinyl skills, Erich Br$%#$#@%$ for always being the one who questions my modifying ideas, and Project 1 for being my car culture family for over 5 years. Also, a special thanks goes out to my fiance Suzy who has stuck through my frustration, midnight shopping sprees online, and continuous modification:to make this the best car that I can.

Yes.

Car is getting some work done at the moment, I'll hopefully have pics with the new Enkei's shortly.

My 97' OB was my first Subaru, and it's stayed with me through a half-dozen of the damn things. She's got 270k on her, and they haven't been easy miles, but she always comes back for more. It's my truck, my hauler, my moving van, my loaner (it's the town bike - half of my local club has had the keys at one time or another), my drunk bus for buddies, camping base, etc. It's original paint - she's been around the block a few hundred thousand times but still cleans up decent. Power is certainly not the strong suit (she's probably up around 175-180 if I'm charitable), but she'll pick up her skirts and boogie when you push her, and once it's rolling on a backroad, it will surprise a lot of faster cars. I should know, I own one.....hehe.

I've considered swapping it a few times; I even had a donor WRX rollover sitting in my shop for a while but never got around to it - life and all that. My STi fills my need for speed, and I like having a solid car with a great suspension setup that runs well on crappy gas, lol. That doesn't mean it hasn't been changed up and considerably evolved from how things started - 4 different exhaust setups, 5 suspension setups, 3 different BBK's, 6 sets of seats, 4 steering wheels, and that's just the start. Wheels.....well, you know about me and wheels.

This car launched the Mafia.....that's all I need to mention there, I think. If you're a part of "the family", a vector of this car adorns your window already (and thanks for your support!!!)

Whether you know it, or me, as the "wagon mafia" guy, "the wheel whore" (33 sets and counting), or "that one Outback", I'd like to think that it's inspired people to build something of their own out of these more common, but much less commonly modified Subarus. The car has been a great learning experience, and I can't replace it - it's just an Outback, bit

Interior/Exterior
Recaro SRD's, black with white stitching/black with blue stitching (don't ask, lol)
Momo Daytona Carbon, 350mm, on DaiKei hub, with functional cruise/cancels (3 other Momos depending on the day)

JDM BG STi pedal kit w/ dead pedal, gold/red.
Tint, rears 5%, driver and passenger 50%.
Hella 500 yellow fogs, yellow StonGard
JDM amber sidemarkers
JDM (zenki) rear light clusters
Hippo Sleek replica mesh grill
Morette headlights (Hella projector low beams, Hella driving pattern highs)
Yakima Doublecross towers/fairing/extended LoadWarrior
Tein BG hood struts
Zerosports radiator shroud

Audio/Electronics
Pioneer Premier DEH-710BT
(F) 6.5 inch Pioneer/Premier components
(R) 6.5 inch Pioneer 3-ways
Alpine MRV100m mono sub amp, mounted under rear load floor
Kicker Solobaric 10" in fiberglass box
Hella Supertones
Valentine 1 (hardwired)

Suspension/Brakes:
Tein Flex coilovers, 04 STi fitment
Whiteline Race ALK
MRT front strut brace
Whiteline 22mm front sway bar
Whiteline rear swaybar links
Whiteline rear strut tower bar w/ QR's
MRT front strut tower bar
(F) Stoptech ST-40 calipers on 328mm slotted rotors, Axxis Ultimate and Hawk Ceramic pads
(R) Axxis Ultimate pads, Power Slot rotors.

Wheels: ****, lol. Currently.....

18x8.5, ET48 Enkei RC-T4's, gold
245/35/18 Yoko S-drives

18x8, ET45 ALT 362's, custom-PC'd olive drab
235/40/18 Falken Ziex 912's

235/40/17 Nexen allseasons

Power (ha!):
JDM NA EJ25
OBX equal-length headers
2.5 inch custom header-back
JDM 4.11 4EAT

I'm sure I'm missing a ton of other little stuff, but whatever.

Sorry about that. We have to compress all the entries when the voting starts.

Please remember you (or whoever) can add as many pics (or vids or whatever) to the thread with new posts for as long as you remain in the running.

Well I can't very well go against the don of the Wagon Mafia, now can I? Might somehow find my JDM projectors, covered in motor oil, under the trunk cover of my BK; that, and maybe get banned from the SL-i.net forums .

Besides, I've always hated the GF wagons (sorry guys, personal taste) for some reason, and I just have to throw some love for the Legacy's .
