Default Project One -- 5 Year Anniversary -- Sept. 1, 2009

On this day in 2004, a car show club was started at The Ram in University Village. Born out of the ashes of Team Intrinsic, this car club's sole purpose was to have a good, familiar group of friends that loved to show off their cars at car shows in an organized team. Founding members Armin H. Ausejo, Wence Estrada, Emily Raforth, Russell Rogers, Sasha Skalatsky, Suzy Spradlin, and Kevin Wise forged "Project One" out of The Ram's beer sampler, Mongo Margaritas, and supposedly Mexican cooks who didn't know how to make a quesadilla, at least according to the waitress. These individuals simply wanted to keep a good thing going after recent car show success, and it's unlikely that any of them had any idea where Project One would end up today. How it all started:

As Project One President since its inception, I'm very happy and proud to acknowledge today, September 1, 2009, as our 5-year Anniversary. We've made a lot of great friends along the way, and probably a few enemies as well, but hey, that's all right. We've had great success in the car show scene as well, along with media publications and helping out the community through charity shows. I honestly couldn't ask for a better group of friends to share the past 5 years with, and no matter what the future holds, I'm confident that I've made many life-long friends through Project One.

Thus, I make this post to pay tribute to our current and past members, along with some of the friends we've made in the process. I salute each and every one of you for your friendship throughout these 5 years:

Wence Estrada, my dear cousin and ultimate detailer

Russell Rogers, the heart and biggest believer of the team

Kevin and Emily Wise, Iron Dove forever

Sasha Skalatsky, who still wears the old Intrinsic shirts to this day

Ivan McKinley, one of the first friends I ever made in the Subaru community

I also have to acknowledge the following who helped us on a couple shows and events...

Kelly Elliott, the loudest "street" car I've ever heard

Colin Reed, more twin turbo action

Joey Atterbury, the pro race car driver

We also did a team shoot for Performance Auto and Sound, and we're actually being published in the upcoming issue, which hits stands on October 1st

Good deal Collin loved that exhaust and he wishes there was an equivalent for the Evo.

As for Russell's Outback, be sure to vote for it for this month's Top Scoob once the polls open! Thanks for the kind words.

Woah, woah, woah... Hold the phone. Brian Hazzard is a part of your crew? Wow, ya learn somthing new every day! He is a buddy of mine, I have invested some blood, sweat and and a few choice words into that car. It's a super clean Accord for sure. Too bad the ATTS is not opperational yet.

Haha yeah, he's been friends with Russell for a long time, and has been with Project One since the very beginning. That car is pretty damn quick...totally surprises people thinking that it's just any other Accord. His attention to detail with his pristine interior was always a fresh thing to see for judges at the shows.

Haha yeah, that photo was taken before he started playing around with different spring combos. The WRX was his daily but the Corolla was his fun car.

That's sick man. I'm assuming that's his AE86 right under the picture of his bugeye then? I thought it was, but wasn't positive.

I love your bugeye btw.
