I'm now officially ready to purchase a STi. I have been dabbling in FS threads for the last few months but now it's time to stop beating around the bush and get one in my garage.
Between $14,000 and $17,500
No more than 65,000 miles. If your STi is close to or over 60k miles, receipts to prove the completion of the 60k service and inspection of all wear items is a must.
Wear items (brakes, tires, struts, clutch, etc) must ALL be in good condition. I can't stress this enough. I can't afford to spend big bucks on these things right after buying the car. No fixeruppers!
No cars that have been tracked, dragged or otherwise raced. I realize most of these cars have been driven hard but I don't want anything that has obvious signs of having been beaten on. Make sure you take all of the autocross cones out of your bumper before showing the car.
Stage II tune with supporting mods. I will consider cars with more than just basic exhaust mods but I don't want or need bigger turbos, FMICs, intakes, bigger injectors, meth injection etc. If your car has been returned to stock or otherwise demodded please be honest and upfront about mods it used to have.
I find the stock stereo in WRXs to be sub par so a nice sounding system is a plus. Quality over quantity though, I don't need it thumping cars around me, just decent speakers and a quality deck is fine with me.
Black on gold is my favorite, silver is my least favorite but color is largly unimportant to me if the price is right.
If you are asking over $17,500 and are not willing to negotiate or your car has 70k miles please don't respond. I have to be strict about my requirements or I'll end up spending more than I can reasonably afford. I have seen plenty of STis in this range come and go the last few months so I don't think I'm being unreasonable. I find those that are asking book value or more for their cars are not easily selling them. I'm not in a rush so I don't mind waiting for the right deal to come along. Don't underestimate the value of a committed buyer with secured financing!
I have a stock 1992 Mazda Miata with 112k miles I'm trying to sell as well. If that interests you perhaps we could work that in to the deal. Pics - http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3316959.
If I could have it all it would be a well kept stage II black on gold '05 STi with 60k miles (that has just had its 60k maint done) for $15,500k.
