Default Wrx Trunk Lock

I was wondering how everyone swaps their locks on the trunks because I don't know how to remove the lock and put it on the new trunk I am receiving. Any help will do, thanks.

Basically, when you look at the inside of your decklid, there should be the glow in the dark handle in case you "accidentally" lock someone in the trunk.

There are 5 twist-tabs to remove on that, then just pull that away so it hangs down. If you need this for your new trunk, rotate it so you can pull out the metal cable.

With the handle removed, you should be able to see the backside of your lock. there is a plastic peice (orange on mine) that you need to unclip from the connecting rod, and then pull the rod out.

Now all that is holding your lock in is a "U" shaped metal bracket. You just need to grab the edge of it that sticks up, and shimmy off of the lock.

Your lock should now just slide out the front of your trunk, and you can reinstall it by going through these steps backward for the new trunk.

Hope this helps.
