Cool

how do you mean decent? in the dry, even with RE92s, i cant do a burnout. launching at over 4k, i can get a slight screech, but its still more of a chirp than a burnout. that blasted AWD! haha

It's impossible even with monsterous amounts of power and a bulletproof drivetrain, which next to no one has.

It's pretty easy if you convert it to FWD or RWD though.

Uh, I haven't tried that hard but very easy to spin all 4 in the WRX on stock tires in the wet, in a straight line even.

Not a real "burnout" though.

No way. If a D90 can do it so can an Impreza.

OK, using snow tires and driving through puddles of bleach doesn't count.

I admit that a WRX can indeed spin all four on the RE92s, but it cannot do a real burnout.

You'd have to have stupid power to do a burnout in an AWD car and not just spin 'em briefly and then take off.

mm...burnout... aghh

AWD burnouts are a pain in the rear sure you can spin them..but the REAL definition of burnout is sit there and cook them up to drag temp..not spin them for 1/2 a second with no smoke and not heating the tyre whilst cleaning the crud off

I can't find the site, but some company does V8 swaps into Land Rovers. IIRC they swapped a 501 into a D90 and had a pic of it doing a burnout.

No I don't have a D90, I wish I did though. My parents have a Disco and were looking for more power and I found that site.

I know the link to this download has been posted before, but gotta love an AWD burnout/donuts with the grand daddy of rally cars, a ur-quattro from Dalbach racing in the Fatherland...oh man. Quality of the video is fair, but you get the idea.

Wouldn't doing a smokey, nasty (not just slip-before-grip) burnout mess with the AWD system something fierce?

ok JC's theory worked, i did a burnout! however, my tranny is now being held in place with ductape, zip ties, and rubber bands. not to mention only having 4th and 5th gear sucks when you start from a red light. oh well.

I dropped it at redline on the way out of a Burger King at lunch and got some smoke off my right front tire, does that count?

BTW, AWD cars mainly have to do burnouts like this - http://8complex.mwic.org/scoobnuts.html
